I just sat there, enjoying it all. Falling silent at times to just absorb it all. The stars. The sound the water makes. The wind. My hair brushing against my face. Everything.
Beautifully rewarding.
Google it. Egypt, the Nile.
I came home to read this and this. And I am in awe.
Memories you make by the Nile can never be explained, you have to be there to know how it's like and how it feels and how beautiful it is. With the Cairo lights in the horizon.
“Shh can you heart it?
The beat of my heart slowing
when your hand finds mine.”
- Daily Haiku on Love by Tyler Knott Gregson.

It is obviously also through Tyler Knott that I got the idea of I am.
I am a sister. I am a best friend. I am a carer. I am reckless. I am resposible. I am that wave caressing your toes. I am the flapping sound a bird makes as it flies. I am the twinkle in your smile. And that in your eye as you are about to cry. I am the sincerety in a hug too tight. I am everything that is not there. I am the present. I am what once was. I am the roundness of the full moon. The imperfection of an old building. I am...but are you?
Do it. "I am...." what are you?
PS. You are amazingly beautiful.

in school, my favorite topic in "social studies" was Egypt... i remember reading all about the Nile, & i always envisioned it as a large, quiet, flowing path surrounded by profound beauty. it is something i plan on experiencing one day. : )
thank you for your insightful posts to remind me of these things.
xo-
i love the image!
the nile is fascinating - i can only hope to experience someday!
I have always wanted to go on a cruise along the nile. you are blessed.
I got bitten by something strange in the Nile. We're unsure what it was but it caused quite the commotion.
Have fun, be careful.
this is very endearing...
i'm in love with this blog!
the Nile is even more beautiful in Aswan.. it's... humfff... impossible to put out in words.. but you feel ONE with everything there... you become it..
Awht that sounds so nice! I've always wanted to go to Egypt, but I've been putting it off because I'm terrified of needles and will need to get some vaccinations to travel!!!
Someday!
I absolutely LOVE that 'there's a perfect line down the middle of your bottom lip' poem/image.
you are amazingly beautiful my dear girl! xo
sara,
i saw this post, and i wanted to e-mail you, so i scrolled back through my e-mails to find your last comment on my blog. but in the "from" field, it just says "noreply-comment@blogger.com" which means i can't e-mail you.
i wanted to ask you something and tell you something. if you feel like it, would you e-mail me at jorjahbateman@yahoo.com?
if not, i understand. i hope you are okay. i've been enjoying your very introspective posts. i've never been to the nile, but i've seen enough photos of it to believe what you say about it. even small rivers around here have that effect on me.
hope to talk to you soon,
georgia
Oh Sara! Your post is making me want to go back to Egypt and show my Princess your beautiful country and see with her all the many great places I was unable to see back then!!! I can't wait!!!
How is your heart? I think about you and wonder...
Un abrazo/A hug,
I am a contradiction. =)
If you ever want to vent/talk/get it all out, please feel free to email me. It's so hard sometimes, but if you want someone to listen, I'll always be there x
Bambola x
Your posts never fail to make me smile,
the Nile sounds so amazing!
p.s. you are so beautiful, and always an inspiration.

Sara! I miss you girlie! :)
The Nile!!! It all sounds so magical.
You like my handwriting?
You like my handwriting!!!
Thank you for this. And the last post, especially: "The tiny little dark corner of your heart..." I agree about the fullness part, too. Gorgeous and true. xx
that is the cutest quote ever...
i am supremely jealous that you are basking in the amazing-ness of the Nile. i've always dreamed of traveling to egypt. maybe one day i will actually make it there. :]
It sounds so beautiful the way you describe it! A friend gave me a gold charm of Nefertiti that she got at the Nile and whenever I wear it I feel connected to something far away and exotic.
I miss Egypt...Cairo...floating on the Nile...
Beautiful blog. xox
My aunt is in Egypt right now and I'm insanely jealous. Sounds like an amazing experience, and I definitely hope to see the Nile before I die.
Hope you're doing ok, Hen!
