The Power of Blogging

I was thinking today after iftar, about a dear blogger-friend and how much I love her. And it took my thoughts to another direction. A direction with no borders.

Now, as you all may know, Iran and Egypt are not friendly on the political level. Egypt is the only Arab country with no embassy in Iran and that is all because of the Islamic Revolution when Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was welcomed to Egypt.

The Shah's first wife was the very beautiful Egyptian princess Fawzia!

King Farouk, Princess Fawzia, and the Shah

I got carried away, but I have to mention that Princess Fawzia still is very beautiful...!

The point is, I dedicate this to Shokoofeh, because I think we are proof of how people are independent of political systems and regimes! I believe that blogs have so much potential and power. That blogging is very underestimated!

I love you, blog! I love you friends I made through my blog. I really do. All of you.

Have tons of fun this weekend! And don't forget this! (FIVE days to go!)

Thank you for your really really nice words on my blog. They really made me smile! I'm so grateful for all the wonderful people (like you) that have come into my life through blogging. So I have to really agree with you that blogging is a powerful tool, one that allows us to cross borders and countries, and make friends with people we otherwise would not have met or would not be allowed to meet.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm so happy I found your blog girl.

I can't explain it with words, but discovering blogging means so much to me. It's powerful because you get to know people but who they are and not only by what some make us believe.
When I was a child I dreamed I travelled to far away countries (for me- in Spain) like Egypt and meet other children and help them and play together. Maybe you were one of that children in my dreams. :-)

PS. I started to comment because I read on your profile this: "I want to keep records of my life for days to come, to show my children. And for those days when my memory fails me.". That's one of the reasons I started to blog too. :)))

I was just thinking the same thing! In a simpler way, actually. I was thinking about how nice people are in the blogging world! Seriously. Everyone is so incredibly talented and kind. I love it! :)

I love this and agree completely. Political nastiness aside, people are individuals, not entities. If we wanted to be, we would have turned to communism long ago! I'm glad you're proving this daily!

The best thing about 'blog land' is that there are no borders, because WE choose not to put them up :)
