Strangers and Time

here

January has issues with her mother, February is always talking about what he wants to do while March does them, April eats sweets and May pays for them, June is the oldest but not the wisest and July always has an opinion on everything. August never stops trying do the right thing, even if he doesn't always know what that is. September once saw something so sad, she never stopped crying. October holds the lift for anyone, vice-presidents and street-sweepers alike (for his memory, not for theirs) and November makes fun of him for this. December is tired but always hopeful. He has never once stopped believing.
Monday's obviously a bastard, quite literally as dad can't remember what or who he was doing. Tuesday's temperamental but ok as long as you stay on her good side. Wednesday doesn't say much and Thursday sometimes hums just to break the silence. They're in love. Friday's always wasted and her and Saturday hold each tightly other until their delirium fades.
But Sunday, Sunday knows she's the end. But she closes her eyes, and she pretends with all the strength in her tiny heart that really, she's the dawn.

Do you ever have encounters with strangers that leave you wondering for the whole day? A nice gesture from a perfect stranger or making eye contact with someone at the mall and not looking away. You know? That kind of thing...does it ever happen to you? Yesterday this person was nice to me. And I can still remember them today.
Thank you stranger :)

I am currently distant teaching Mohammed how to cook, and following up and it's so much fun! It makes me smile how cute he is taking, very carefully, instructions!

NB I AM TAGGING MY POSTS AGAIN!

A recap of some sort!

I am in Alexandria, Egypt's most cosmopolitan city as of last century, and one of my most favourite places on earth.

I drove here yesterday (3 hour drive) and I am trying to study, but being able to see the sea from our balcony is such a distraction! A panoramic view of the Mediterranean!  oh and I got myself a blackberry (finally?) which is something I am rather proud of, because I paid for it!
Since I live with my parents, they pay for everything...and that was my rather simple and subtle way of telling them "mummy! daddy! Look! I am growing up, aren't you proud of me?"

I can't believe there are 310 people who actually read my blog. Honestly, this is just overwhelming! I remember how it all started. And I remember co-writing a blog with an AIESEC friend of mine. And it seems like such a long time ago. It actually is...I think, it's over a year ago definitely!

And I have been procrastinating like nothing else- I have only finished writing ONE paper. ONE! I know..

Remember that hard decision I was supposed to make? Boyfriend and I had broken up and it was bad, I was sad. And lonely. And I was to decide whether or not we could be together. Because things had gotten so complicated at that point. We're back.

Dear Semester, You are eating me alive!

I follow a lot of wedding blogs, and I don't know why- I am not getting married any time soon. But then, I saw this and I think it's THE most beautiful wedding I have ever seen!

I have been up for almost three hours and I have tons to do. And by tons I mean, around a total of 20,000 words to write. It's end of semester and I have to write the following:
  1. A paper of forgotten stars in international trade; people who have contributed to the theory but are rarely ever given credit (anymore) - 11 authors.
  2. two reaction papers on methods of development analysis.
  3. A term paper applying different schools of development analysis on a country that has(or hasn't) developed (without mentioning the country)
  4. A term paper on international factor movements.
  5. A paper on the reflection of Egypt in the 60s in literature (which I have to edit for a panel discussion)
And what do I do? I look at tumblrs and read Milan Kundera and listen to music instead!

here

Thursday something that inspires you: Everything inspires me, nature inspires me. My family. Music and books. Egypt inspires me. A culture so fertile, it's unbelievably beautiful.

Friday The five songs you would have with you on a desert island and why. That's a hard one..can I make them artists? Regina Spektor, Panic at the Disco, Jason Mraz, Mohamed Mounir and Salalem

Saturday what you imagine paradise to be like: I would imagine paradise would have all the people I love, all the books I could ever read, eternal happiness and being able to eat all you want without getting fat!

Friday

1.  The first thing I do in the morning is     boil some water for my coffee while I do other things   .

2.  Every night before bed  I     set my phone alarm and read for a bit .

3.  My favorite thing to do when I'm having a bad day is      go out for coffee or ideally to the bookstore and be among books   .

4.  Something that makes me cringe is     bad table manners    .

5.  Social situations  can be messy sometimes     .

6.  I like to collect     books, jewelery and random things   .

7.  Weekends are for      spending time with my family, studying, going out and relaxing (if I have the time!)    .

Thank you Lauren for starting this :) I have tons of studying to do and a huge "talk" scheduled for today...I had a question, what program do use to edit photos and make blog headers and such?

Michaela's giveaway!

I am approaching 300 followers and it is such an overwhelming feeling! And so I would like for everyone to celebrate with the lovely Michaela!
I am so happy for you!! Join the celebrations everyone :)

On another note, thank you for your positive thoughts. You are helping me and for that I am thankful and I am very, very lucky.

I think that he is writing these for me. Today's and yesterday's posts are just so...talking to me.
I want to do retail therapy. Sometimes I feel like crying. Others I just feel an emptiness. Sometimes I hysterically laugh and others I just...feel guilty.

Oh and I found yet another challenge!!

Day 01- Guilty pleasure: I will keep it simple today and just list them. SHOES, SUSHI and CHOCOLATE!
